Hidden Rules & Critical Conditions
- Funded Accounts Are Still Demo Accounts [Critical]: Blue Guardian states that all accounts are demo accounts in a virtual environment with virtual money, that there is no live capital or margin risk, and that payouts are discretionary and depend on Blue Guardian accepting and licensing your trading data.
- Guardian Shield Adds A Hidden Open-Loss Layer [Critical]: Funded accounts carry Guardian Shield, which auto-closes all open trades if floating PnL hits a hidden threshold: 1% on Instant/Starter and 2% on most funded evaluation models. The first breach permanently cuts the split to 50%, and the next breach terminates the account.
- 24-Hour Payout Guarantee Has Carve-Outs [Warning]: The 24-business-hour guarantee pauses on weekends, excludes bank holidays, and does not apply to compliance checks, risk reviews, or delays caused by missing Rise onboarding steps.
- Consistency Rules Block Payouts On Some Funded Models [Critical]: Instant Standard uses a 20% consistency rule, Instant Starter uses 15%, and 2 Step Pro uses 25%. Violations do not breach the account, but the payout button remains unavailable until more profit is generated to dilute the largest day. Notably, Instant Starter has the tightest limit at 15% — this means any single day cannot represent more than 1/6.7 of your total cycle profit. A trader who has one strong day early in the cycle will need to accumulate approximately 5.7x that amount in additional profit from OTHER days before the ratio drops back below 15%. Instant Starter's 15% cap is materially more restrictive than most industry equivalents (FTMO uses 50%, E8 uses 35–40%, Alpha Capital uses 40%).
- News-Trading Documentation Conflicts On Instant Standard [Warning]: Blue Guardian's Instant Account article says news trading 5 minutes before or after is permitted, but the separate 'Is News Trading allowed?' article says Instant Standard and Funded accounts cannot open or close trades 5 minutes before or after red-folder news and FOMC events.
- Withdrawal Rail Limits Are Buried In Help Articles [Warning]: Blue Guardian routes payouts through Rise Works or Crypto. Crypto withdrawals are only available below $2,000, while Rise bank withdrawals have a $500 minimum and require a fully set up Rise account.
- Read-Only Mode Starts After You Request A Payout: Once a payout is requested, the account is placed into read-only mode and trading only resumes after the request is approved.
- Instant Starter Closes After The First Payout [Warning]: The Instant Starter account only permits one payout during its lifetime and then closes immediately after that payout. The profit cap is 5% of the $5K balance.
